Huddersfield Town have been linked with Hull City’s Fraizer Campbell.
According to a report in the Hull Daily Mail, Huddersfield Town are eyeing a move for Hull City’s Fraizer Campbell who could end up leaving the club on a free transfer this summer.
Campbell’s current contract with Hull expires in the summer. The Championship club have the option to extend his deal by 12 months, but it is said they cannot afford to retain him on his current wages.
Huddersfield are set for a Championship campaign following their relegation from the Premier League.
The Terriers managed to stay up in their first season under then manager David Wagner, but they have suffered this season and their early relegation gives them a chance to start planning ahead for next season.
Campbell has had a decent season at Hull, scoring 12 league goals and grabbing a further six assists in 26 Championship starts.
In what was expected to be a season of struggle, Hull have shot up the league with Campbell, Jarred Bowen and Kamil Grosicki proving a deadly front three which has prompted an unlikely outside play-off bid.
Campbell joined Hull in the summer of 2017 from Crystal Palace. It seems he arrived on Premier League wages having spent three seasons at Palace and before that a further year in the top flight with Cardiff City.
Huddersfield will be among the favourites for promotion and signing a player who is capable of finding the net with regularity at Championship level will stand them in good stead next season.
