Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury says talks over a new contract are ongoing, as he wishes to sign a longer deal which will keep him at the City Ground long-term, the club’s official website reports.
The talented midfielder joined the Tricky Trees from Arsenal back in 2012, and has since gone on to make over 130 Championship appearances for the East Midlands club.
There were question marks over the 25-year-old’s future at the club, however, as his current deal is set to expire next summer.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Lansbury says talks are ongoing over a new contract, and that it his intention to sign a long-term extension at the club he now regards as home.
“Talks are still ongoing with the chairman and Pedro Pereira so hopefully that will be sorted soon. The plan is to extend my contract to an even longer deal. It’s nice that the chairman wants to keep me here so hopefully everyone can find some common ground and we can get the deal done,” the midfielder explained.

The former England U21 international has started the current campaign in decent form, grabbing two assists and scoring his first goal of the season in the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa last weekend.
Nottingham Forest fans will certainly be hoping to see him put pen to paper on a new deal as quickly as possible, as Philippe Montanier’s side look to maintain the feel-good factor currently surrounding the club. Forest have got 3 victories and 2 draws from their opening 7 games of this league campaign.
