Millwall’s Shane Ferguson has signed a new contract at the club.

Millwall supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on confirmation of Shane Ferguson’s new contract at the club with many citing it as great news.
The former Newcastle United man has penned an extension on his current deal which was due to expire in the summer, although as per club policy the length of the deal hasn’t been disclosed.
Ferguson has become a key member of the first-team squad this summer, making 23 Championship appearances where he has scored twice and provided three assists.
Extending his deal could save Millwall the hassle of having to replace him with a likely seven-figure signing this coming summer, and supporters have reacted to the news in positive fashion.
Ferguson came through the youth ranks at Newcastle but struggled to breakthrough at St James Park, spending several campaigns out on loan at the likes of Birmingham City and Rangers.
He originally joined Millwall on loan in 2015, before joining the club permanently in January 2016.

The 27-year-old can feature at both left-back and left midfield, with the majority of his appearances for the Lions this season coming in a more attacking role as manager Neil Harris values his efforts in the final third.
Ferguson scored both of Millwall’s goals in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Hull City last month and helped his side reach the fifth round of the cup as the Championship side knocked out Everton following a 3-2 win at The Den.
