Wolfsburg’s Max Kruse has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur.
Wolfsburg striker Max Kruse says a move away from the club this summer could be possible as German reports claim Tottenham Hotspur are interested in his services, Bild report.
A Friday report in the German publication Eurosport claimed Spurs are interested in the signing the attacker this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to bolster his attacking options.
The North London club have become heavily reliant on Harry Kane to grab the goals, and it appears Pochettino would like to take the burden off his shoulders by adding another goal scorer.
Kruse, 28, is a regular for the Bundesliga side but when asked to clarify his future amid speculation, he told reporters he could potentially leave the Volkswagen Arena this summer.
“There is already much discussed in recent days, in terms of a possible change of mine. I do not rule out. I say in all honesty, it is possible. I myself am very curious to see what happens. I really do not know yet,” he explained to Bild.
Kruse made 32 Bundesliga appearances last term, scoring six goals and adding a further six assists.
While his record doesn’t exactly shout prolific, it was his debut season at Wolfsburg following his 2015 swich from Borussia Monchengladbach and the team ultimately underperformed in the league.
Kruse netted 33 goals in 66 games for Monchengladbach in the previous two seasons, showing his talent.
The report in Eurosport also mentions that the striker could be sold for a bargain £6.3 million, a fee which could certainly entice Spurs into taking the risk and brining him to the Premier League.
