Leicester City have signed James Maddison from Norwich City.

Norwich City supporters have taken to social networking site Twitter to tell Leicester City fans how they have acquired a superb player in James Maddison following his confirmed switch to the King Power Stadium.

Sky Sports report that Maddison has joined Leicester on a five-year deal for a fee in the region of £22 million, though that could rise depending on completing sporting objectives and potential bonuses.

Maddison, an England U21 international, was widely regarded as one of the brightest young players outside the Premier League last season following a terrific individual Championship campaign at Norwich.

Taking to Twitter, Norwich fans can’t begrudge Maddison a deserved move to the top-flight with Leicester and have told supporters of the east Midlands club how they now have a gem on their hands.

The Foxes signing Maddison raises the question as whether they have signed him as a potential replacement for Algeria international Riyad Mahrez following speculation over his future.

It is expected that the talented winger will join Manchester City for a big-money fee this summer, and his seemingly impending exit would leave manager Claude Puel with a big void to fill.

Maddison, while not an out-and-out winger, can play in several positions in the final third and last season he showed his capabilities with an impressive 14 league goals and a further eight assists.

The 21-year-old has plenty of time on his side to reach his potential, and alongside Demarai Gray, Leicester now boast two of the brightest young English talents.
