Derby County signed Kasey Palmer on loan from Chelsea on deadline day.

Derby County boss Gary Rowett has told the club’s official website that he believes new signing Kasey Palmer can bring creativity and an air of unpredictability as his side look to win the battle for automatic promotion.
The Rams, currently lying in second place in the Championship, also added forward Cameron Jerome from Norwich City before losing reliable winger Johnny Russell to MLS side Kansas City.
With just Andreas Weimann and Tom Lawrence remaining as two senior wide players, Rowett spent the last two days of the transfer window scouring the market for another attack-minded player to help bolster his ranks.

Palmer, who had previously had a successful loan spell at Huddersfield Town, was among Rowett’s top targets and the Derby boss feels his arrival will give his side a new dynamic going forward.
“We brought another striker in, in Cameron Jerome from Norwich City, which was a priority for us and what we wanted to do,” Rowett told dcfc.co.uk.
“We also added that creativity and something a little bit unpredictable in Kasey Palmer. He might be somebody that can turn a tight game into a winning one. He has a very good pedigree, coming from Chelsea, and got promoted with Huddersfield last season.”

Palmer helped Huddersfield win promotion to the Premier League as the Terriers navigated through the playoffs with penalty shootout victories over both Sheffield Wednesday and Reading.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder made 25 appearances (16 starts) for Huddersfield last season, scoring four goals and adding a further three assists.
