Richard Keogh has penned a new three-and-a-half year deal at Derby County.
Derby County defender Richard Keogh has signalled his intent to finish his career at Pride Park after penning a new deal at the club which will see him stay until at least the summer of 2021.
The Republic of Ireland international joined the Rams from Coventry City back in 2012, and he has gone on to represent the club more than 230 times in all competitions.
Despite his error which led to Bobby Zamora’s last-minute winner during Derby’s 1-0 defeat to Queens Park Rangers in the 2013/14 Championship playoff final, Keogh has become a cult hero at the club.

He has overseen numerous managerial changes and a swath of players come and go, yet his position at the heart of Derby’s defence has rarely been in question and he has no doubt improved with age.
The East Midlands club currently sit in second spot in the Championship table, and Keogh’s partnership alongside Curtis Davies is the foundation on which Derby’s promotion push is built.

Gary Rowett’s side have only conceded three goals in their last 14 league outings, with only one of those goals coming in open play during the 1-1 home draw with promotion rivals Sheffield United.
Keogh deserves to lead Derby to the Premier League, and at the end of his contract the 31-year-old could well be due a testimonial match to celebrate his loyalty and everything he has given the club.

Writing on Twitter following the news, supporters we’re thrilled for Keogh and the players himself couldn’t hide his delight.
