Derby County signed George Evans from Reading in the summer.

Derby County boss Frank Lampard has suggested George Evans is still a couple of weeks away from returning to first-team action despite recovering from his long-term injury earlier this month, dcfc.co.uk report.
“I think George Evans still needs a bit more time in terms of an Under-23s game, maybe more training time but the other three are competing,” Lampard said.
“Hopefully the other three [Mason Mount, Craig Bryson and Martyn Waghorn] will be in the squad but we just need to keep evaluating them.”
Derby signed Evans from fellow Championship side Reading late in the summer transfer window, but supporters haven’t managed to see him in first-team action at Pride Park longer than a brief appearance against Ipswich Town.
Evans started the Rams’ 2-0 victory over the Tractor Boys and fitted in well as the holding midfielder, but a cruel injury cut his night short as he had to be taken off after just 27 minutes.
Tom Huddlestone has since come in and established himself in the holding role with Mount and fellow loanee Harry Wilson thriving in a more attacking central role, but Evans no doubt offers more mobility around the pitch.

The 23-year-old recovered from his injury earlier this month, though with the international break and a lack of U23 matches, he has seemingly struggled to gain match fitness ahead of the clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
Evans has plenty of potential and will no doubt be looking to come into the team during the busy festive period as Derby are set to play in as many as nine Championship games ahead of the FA Cup tie in early January.
