Ravel Morrison joined Lazio after being released by West Ham.

According to Sky Sports Italia, former West Ham United outcast Ravel Morrison wants to remain at Serie A outfit Lazio amid speculation of a return to England with Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

The former Manchester United product left the Red Devils for West Ham in 2012, a deal which delighted then-boss Sam Allardyce given the winger’s rave reviews from Old Trafford.

The talent was always there but the 22-year-old has struggled and his indiscipline prompted the Hammers to release him at the end of his contract last January. Morrison has since taken a big career move and opted for Lazio, training with the Italian side ahead of a proposed summer move on a free transfer under the Bosman ruling.

Recent reports claim QPR are attempting to persuade him to move to Loftus Road instead of signing a long-term deal at Lazio – yet Sky Sports Italia reveal the player’s wish to remain in Italy.

“Morrison has been training at Lazio’s facility in Formello for the past 3 months, where he arrived after his contract with West Ham expired – despite offers from QPR he’ll stay with Pioli’s squad,” the report states.

Morrison featured 17 times in the Premier League during his short stint at West Ham, scoring three goals before joining QPR and later Cardiff City on loan in the Championship. His most memorable moment was undoubtedly his fine effort against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Hoops’ recent relegation to the second-tier was a big setback for Chris Ramsey’s men, meanwhile, but – similarly to their relegation in the 2012/13 season – QPR are aiming for an immediate return to the top flight.
