Nottingham Forest have brought in five new players thus far.
Nottingham Forest boss Philippe Montanier says he is happy with the club’s transfer business thus far but he would welcome one or two more additions ahead of the new season, Sky Sports reports.
The former Real Sociedad and Rennes manager took over the reins at Forest this summer; an appointment which came as a big surprise but no doubt will excite supporters at the City Ground.
Montanier has taken over a Forest side who struggled last season in the Championship, and a squad who are evidently short in a few areas as the club looks to once again challenge for promotion.
The Reds have made four permanent additions this summer and one loan signing, and while Montanier is happy with his side’s transfer activity he is still keen for more players to arrive.
“I am happy, but I would be happy with one or two more as well, why not? I would like a big squad, because we know that the season is very long and we need a big squad for that,” the Frenchman told Sky Sports.
“I am pleased with the signings we have made, but I would be happy if we can get one or two more as well.”
Montanier arrives at Forest with a decent track record, having previously helped Real Sociedad qualify for the Champions League via a fourth place La Liga finish.
The Championship, however, is a completely different challenge and there is no doubt Forest have fallen someway behind the league’s expected promotion challengers in recent seasons.
The Tricky Trees have mainly looked abroad for new additions this summer with Apostolos Vellios, Thomas Lam, Damien Perquis and Hildeberto Pereira arriving at the City Ground to date.
