Norwich City’s Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis both signed new deals at Carrow Road.

Norwich City boss Daniel Farke says young duo Max Aarons and Jamal Lewis had suitors from elsewhere but decided to pledge their future to the Norfolk club this past week, Eastern Daily Press reports.
“It was brilliant to announce this news and brilliant we were able to give the three younger lads new contracts. It protects us, first of all. Then it is a big commitment on their part because, 100%, there was some other options as well for them out there,” Farke explained.
“All the other clubs are not asleep, they realise we have some really big talents and the fact they commit to us long term means they believe in our way and the direction we want to head.”
During the international break, Norwich youngsters Max Aarons, Jamal Lewis and Louis Thompson all signed new long-term deals with the Canaries amid speculation over their future.
According to a report in the Mirror (11 October, Page 57) Premier League duo Chelsea and Arsenal were accredited with an interest in England U19 international fullback Aarons following his impressive displays. The talented Norwich fullback has made the right-back slot his own after coming in for former captain Ivo Pinto, and the 18-year-old was rewarded for his efforts with a new and improved deal until the summer of 2021.

The new deals for the Norwich trio could be worth millions to the Carrow Road club, as now they don’t have to worry about losing them to a small compensation or tribunal fee, and instead can hold out for much bigger transfer fees.
Aarons, and left-back Lewis, in particular are likely to improve with further regular game-time in Norwich’s first-team eleven, and both have the potential to go on and feature at a higher level than the Championship.
