Queens Park Rangers could turn to former West Bromwich Albion boss Darren Moore.

Darren Moore the head coach

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Queens Park Rangers are considering Darren Moore for the vacant managerial job after he was recently dismissed by Championship rivals West Bromwich Albion.

QPR are on the lookout for a new manager after they decided to part ways with Steve McClaren.

McClaren’s sacking does not come as a great surprise after a poor run of just one win in 15 games.

A list of names has already been linked with the vacant post at Loftus Road, with the Birmingham Mail claiming former Stoke City and Derby County boss Gary Rowett is also in consideration.

Moore is currently without a job following his recent dismissal at West Brom.

Many felt the sacking was harsh on the former defender as the Baggies were positioned fourth in the Championship table and still with an outside shot of automatic promotion.

Moore took over the West Brom post on caretaker duties at the end of last season, yet he was handed the reins full-time after picking up some impressive results in the Premier League despite the club’s inevitable relegation.

The 44-year-old will have learned from his West Brom experience, and as a player he had Championship promotion experience on more than one occasion therefore he knows what it takes to get out of the second tier.

Moore held a 47.9% win percentage record at West Brom, winning 23 of 48 games.

QPR will first and foremost be looking to secure their Championship status this term, before looking to strengthen this summer with the idea of pushing for the top six next season.
