Norwich City defeated Wigan Athletic 1-0 at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Some Norwich City supporters have taken to Twitter to show their appreciation for Marco Stiepermann, following his impressive performance during his side’s 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic.
The German attacking midfielder was given licence to push right up – almost alongside forward Teemu Pukki at – times against Wigan, and the tactical switch worked as he threatened throughout the game.
Stiepermann recorded a total of four shots on goal, two key passes and two successful dribbles (Whoscored), as the Latics struggled to contain him, prompting a great show of appreciation for the club’s supporters.
It was Mario Vrancic who grabbed the only goal of the game, striking late from the penalty spot as Norwich finally broke through against a decent well-rounded opposition who frustrated them for long spells. The Canaries’ victory was their fifth in succession, taking them up to fifth in the Championship table and only 3 points off current league leaders West Bromwich Albion.
Daniel Farke’s Norwich said haven’t quite hit top gear yet, but they are picking up points from tight games, and the momentum they have right now will stand them in good stead for their upcoming clash with Derby County.
With Pukki, Stiepermann and Emiliano Buendia starting to gel in the final third, there’s no reason why Norwich can’t extend their good run and consolidate themselves in the top six ahead of the next international break.
