David Prutton believes his former side Nottingham Forest haven’t hit the heights expected of them yet this season and predicts they will suffer a 1-0 defeat at Swansea City this weekend, Sky Sports report.

“It didn’t look too much like Swansea would claim all three points at Millwall after going a man and then a goal down, but Graham Potter’s side showed incredible resolve to come back and win that game,” Prutton said.

“Nottingham Forest look less than the sum of their parts at the moment and, as ever, seem to be drawing too many games. I fancy Swansea to sneak this one 1-0.”

Have Forest underperformed so far this season?

Aitor Karanka’s side spent a lot of money in the summer, splashing out over £25 million on 11 new permanent signings including a club record fee on Portugal U21 international Joao Carvalho from Benfica.

Many feel with Forest’s heavy spending in the summer they should be challenging for promotion to the Premier League this season, but so far they’ve managed just one win from six Championship games.

Forest’s biggest issue so far is drawing matches they arguably should be winning, with 2-2 draws against the likes of Birmingham City and Wigan Athletic who are expected to struggle while they were also held to a 1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion despite dominating the Baggies for much of the game.

New signing Claudio Yacob has been brought in to add more steel in the middle of the park, but Karanka will now have a dilemma on his hands with Ben Watson, Jack Colback and Adlene Guedioura also pushing for starts.

Forest’s last win at the Liberty Stadium came in 2009, a 1-0 win under then manager Billy Davies, and their best shot of claiming all three points on Saturday is by again keeping it tight at the back.

Swansea have won just once at home this season, but the Welsh club will be buoyed by their 2-1 victory at Millwall last time out having spent most the game with just 10 men and coming from behind to win.
