Norwich City beat Rotherham United 3-1 at Carrow Road.
Norwich City manager Daniel Farke says his side missed an unbelievable amount of chances during their 3-1 win over Rotherham United and suggests the score-line could have been greater, Eastern Daily Press report.
“It was not 6-1. Unbelievable how many chances we missed. Teemu could have already won the prize for the best goalscorer in the league this season in this one game. So many chances,” Farke explained.
Norwich returned to the top of the Championship following Leeds United’s win at Sheffield United, but they were made to work hard for the three points in a game many tipped them to win comfortably.
The Millers were stubborn in defence and took a lead into the half-time interval, with Norwich’s creative attacking players such as Todd Cantwell and Emiliano Buendia largely kept under wraps.
But a second-half onslaught ensued for Norwich and they deservedly turned the game around, with striker Teem Pukki finally getting on the scoresheet after several chances going to waste.
The Canaries had a total of 19 shots throughout the 90 minutes, with seven of those on target. They also dominated possession with 65% of the ball and completed 78% of their attempted passes (Whoscored).
While they managed to pick up the three points, Farke will be imploring his side to be more prolific as the season progresses as the Norfolk side look to keep up their current automatic promotion form.
With no real standout team unlike in previous years, Norwich have a decent chance of topping the Championship table come next May though without a mean defence much will depend on their ability to find the net regularly.
