Norwich City boss Daniel Farke says he has plenty of options at right-back with Ivo Pinto now another in contention after making a recovery from a hamstring injury, the Eastern Daily Press report.

“That was a tough call. He [Ivo Pinto] missed a lot of pre-season and then he picked up another injury with his hamstring. That put him out for 12 days. He has two appearances. One for the Under-23s and at Wycombe,” Farke explained.

“He is back in a good shape but in the league we had several good appearances from Max Aarons or even Jamal Lewis on the other wing. You can also add Louis Thompson and Ben Godfrey to that area as options.”

Ivo Pinto was a regular for Norwich last season, but his recurring injury problems this season has seen both Ben Marshall and lately exciting youngster Max Aarons claim a regular spot at right-back.

A former Portugal U21 international, Pinto joined Norwich while they were in the Premier League under former boss Alex Neil and has remained at the club despite their relegation to the Championship.

He has gone on to make 68 Championship appearances for the club over the past two seasons, but this year he is yet to feature and there have been question marks over his future at the club.

Aarons has established himself as the club’s new right-back over the past few games and he has been a part of a Norwich side which has gone eight games undefeated in all competitions.

With Pinto’s contract up in the summer, it’s likely the 28-year-old will depart Carrow Road unless he can break back into the starting XI but that seems unlikely with boss Farke having plenty of other options.
