Connor Hall says he is open to a Bolton Wanderers recall in January

Bolton Wanderers have scored just 11 goals in 17 games this season.

Bolton Wanderers striker Connor Hall says he is looking at returning to the club in the January transfer window following a loan spell at League One side Accrington Stanley, Bolton News report.

“The gaffer thought the best thing for me was to go out on loan, and I agreed with him,” Hall said.

“But if I can do well between now and January, score a few more goals, it would be great to get a call-back and try to score a few for Wanderers.”

Bolton have struggled to score goals this season, netting just 11 times in 17 league matches as they now sit in the Championship relegation zone ahead of the busy festive period.

The Trotters started the season well with three wins in their opening four matches, but just one win since and two goals scored in their last 10 league games has seen them tumble down the table.

Hall impressed for the U23 side last season, netting a whopping 23 goals which prompted some supporters to call for manager Phil Parkinson to bring him up to the first-team squad.

But his recent loan spell at Accrington suggests he may not be ready just yet, as most of his appearances for the League One club have come off the bench with Billy Kee and Offrande Zanzala the first-choice strikers.

Hall did find the net against Blackpool in the Checkatrade Trophy recently when given a rare start, but Championship defences are made of much sterner stuff these days with Bolton regular Clayton Donaldson finding that out.

Hall would be better suited to remaining in League One and gaining valuable experience, while Bolton boss Phil Parkinson must look to bring in fresh faces in January if the club wish to fight off relegation this term.
