Dedryck Boyata’s future at Celtic is unclear.

Celtic assistant manager Chris Davies says Dedryck Boyata won’t be involved in this weekend’s clash with Partick Thistle as his future at the club remains unclear, Sky Sports report.
Boyata’s future at Celtic Park has been placed into question over the past few weeks, with the defender seemingly eager to move on from the Scottish Premiership champions.
According to a report in the Standard, Celtic rejected a £9 million bid from Fulham for the defender – a decision which many feel now to be a mistake following the player’s subsequent response.
Boyata missed Celtic’s defeat to AEK Athens in the Champions League qualifier in midweek through injury, though boss Brendan Rodgers has since claimed the Belgian ace was fit to play.
Speaking to reporters on the situation, Davies admits it’s unfortunate what has happened but hasn’t ruled out Boyata remaining at the club beyond the current transfer window.
“Dedryck has had a long chat with the manager. It is an unfortunate situation. We can’t change what happened. There was a frustration obviously and the manager is managing the situation and Dedryck won’t be involved tomorrow,” Davies told Sky Sports.
“Obviously there has been a lot of frustration from the supporters and Brendan addressed it at the time but as it stands he is still a Celtic player and that may well be the case when the window shuts. So we can’t say he will be leaving the club.”

The versatile 27-year-old defender joined the Hoops from Manchester City back in 2015 and has gone on to make more than 100 appearances for the club in all competitions, winning six trophies.
Boyata may feel that it’s time to move on from Celtic Park and the chance to return to the Premier League with Fulham was an opportunity he no doubt laments as it was taken out of his control.
The Bhoys missed Boyata’s experience as poor defending cost them in their recent Champions League defeat, and the situation may get even worse before the transfer window is over.
