Wolverhampton Wanderers have been aided by their link-up with super-agent Jorge Mendes.

Eddie Howe, manager of Bournemouth applauds the fans after the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and AFC Bournemouth at Selhurst Park on December 9, 2017 in London, England.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe believes Wolverhampton Wanderers have been smart to link up with super-agent Jorge Mendes as he labels their squad a very talented group of players, as reported by the Independent.

Wolves went in a different direction to most cubs last season, linking up with renowned super-agent Jorge Mendes and signing several players who were no doubt too good for the Championship.

What Wolves did was perfectly fine, although supporters from fellow clubs felt they had gained an unfair advantage by acquiring players who were beyond the reach of their own club.

Either way, the west Midlands club romped to the Championship title and they have since received the backing of Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, who believes they have added yet more quality players this summer.

“You’ve got a model and a club in the Championship and you find a way to get them into the Premier League. No matter how you do that within the rules of the game, that’s smart,” Howe told the Independent.

“That’s sport, that’s smart; they’ve thought outside of the box and been very creative in what they’ve done. So fair play to them. The promoted teams are going to be very, very strong. I was very impressed by Wolves last year and they’ve added a lot of players to their already-talented group.”

Wolves have added several top-quality players to their squad this summer, bringing in Portugal internationals Rui Patricio, Joao Moutinho and Diogo Jota on a permanent deal.

Nuno Espirito Santos’s side have also acquired Willy Boly on a permanent deal while adding Mexico international Raul Jimenez on loan from Benfica, giving them further options in attack.

Many expect the Championship winners to preserve their Premier League status come next May, and then build on their talented group of players to push themselves towards an established top 10 spot.

The Cherries have now been in the top flight for three seasons since their promotion in 2014-15, but this coming season could be their most challenging yet with promoted duo Wolves and Fulham looking strong.
