Blackburn Rovers youngster Vilius Pilukaitis has reportedly impressed several Premier League sides.
Blackburn Rovers must secure a permanent deal for young forward Vilius Pilukaitis as securing his long-term future at Ewood Park could pave the way to a big-money sale in the future.
According to a recent report in Talksport, Premier League sides Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur were keen on the youngster and they have now been joined by those making up the top-flight’s ‘big six’.
Pilukaitis, 17, initially joined Championship side Blackburn on a loan deal from the Lithuanian National Football Academy though Rovers do have the option to sign him on a permanent deal – one they must take up.
The talented forward has been in sparking form for the academy side this season and recently picked up the man of the match award in a 1-1 draw against Manchester City’s Under-18 side.
With several of the Premier League’s sides reportedly interested in signing him, making his loan switch at Blackburn permanent as early as January now makes plenty of sense as the plaudits grown.
While Rovers could end up paying more in the short-term, Pilukaitis has bags of potential and any long-term stay at Ewood Park will only see his price rise and thus allow the Lancashire club to hold out for a higher fee should suitors come calling.
Blackburn already have several young assets in their squad including Bradley Dack (24), Adam Armstrong (21), Ben Brereton (19) and Ryan Nyambe (20), but Pilukaitis could end up going further than the lot.
