Blackburn Rovers have signed Christian Walton on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.

Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has suggested his side have no chance of signing Brighton and Hove Albion’s Christian Walton permanently as he contemplates signing another shot-stopper, the Lancashire Telegraph reports.
“Christian has come in and his club believe he is going to play in the Premier League. We have to accept that. He will be going back at some stage to play for them,” Mowbray explained.
“We either get our own goalkeeper now in this window or let it run until the next one. If one comes around at the price then we are still in the market for the right goalkeeper.”
Walton joined Brighton’s development squad having initially come through the youth ranks at Plymouth Argyle.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed several loan spells away from the Seagulls, featuring for the likes of Southend United and Wigan Athletic – helping the Latics preserve their Championship status last season.
Walton has an abundance of ability, but at Brighton he has both Mat Ryan, 27, and David Button, 30, for competition. Both goalkeepers still potentially have a number of years left at the top level.

Brighton boss Graham Potter seemingly sees it necessary for Walton to have further experience in the Championship, but he may have given him assurances over his Seagulls future.
The situation leaves Blackburn still needing a permanent long-term number one goalkeeper. However, their chances of signing one this summer appears slim with Walton expected to start for Rovers.
