Sheffield Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri has returned to training.

Sheffield Wednesday supporters have taken to social networking site Twitter in order to rejoice at the news that star player Fernando Forestieri has returned to training following a lengthy spell out with injury.
The Argentine play-maker has made just two Championship appearances this season, after an injury back in August prompted him to have surgery on his knee followed by lengthy rehabilitation.
The Owls have sorely missed their leading player as they currently find themselves in the lower reaches of the Championship table, some way off their pre-season target of at least a play-off spot.

Forestieri scored 27 goals and added a further 11 assists in his two seasons at Hillsborough prior to this one, yet the 28-year-old is more than just a creative goal-scorer in the final third, he is also a leader.
The former Watford man works incredibly hard off the ball, and his attitude prompts a reaction out of his teammates and ultimately pushes them to raise their level of play and desire to win.

There is no doubt that his absence has caused sloppiness in Wednesday’s play this season, and in the end saw his former boss Carlos Carvalhal sacked and replaced by Dutch boss Jos Luhukay.
After missing more than 35 Championship games, Forestieri could be in contention to feature in the remaining two months of the season after the club posted pictures of his return to training.
For the Owls it is now all about pride and preparing for next season as they sit comfortably ahead of the bottom three, and for the fans it is a moment of excitement in an otherwise forgettable Championship campaign.
