Sheffield Wednesday return to Championship action following the international break with a home encounter with newly promoted Wigan Athletic.
The Owls have made an inconsistent start to the season, beating Aston Villa 1-0 on the opening day of the camapign before failing to win any of the next four including a home defeat to Leeds United.
Last season’s playoff finalists need to get their season back on track, and on Saturday they are handed a decent opportunity as they host a Wigan side also strugglign for form.
The Latics have lost three of their opening five matches, and should Wednesday play anywhere near their potential at Hillsborough then that tally should increase to four.

Wednesday follow up their encounter with Wigan with another home match against Brisol City, and it’s another opportunity for the Yorkshire club to put three points on the board.
Lee Johnson’s side have made vast improvements over the past six months, and last time out they put on a strong performance and came from behind to beat Villa 3-1 at Ashton Gate.
Wednesday will want revenge after losing 4-1 at Bristol City last April, and a strong performance in midweek could see them get it in what will probably be a tight and disciplined encounter.

Birmingham City v Sheffield Wednesday (September 17)
Carlos Carvalhal’s men finish the week with a difficult trip to Birmingham City, though it’s a game in which they will be confident of picking up a result after bossing the recent fixtures between the two.
The Owls are five undefeated against the Blues, and their last two visits to St. Andrews ended in away victories.
Gary Rowett’s men have started the season well enough and will want to set the record straight, but with both teams lining up in similar fashion the most likely result will be a score draw.
