Ipswich Town supporters have taken to Twitter to comment on Trevoh Chalobah’s performance as the young midfielder saw plenty of the ball, as his side were defeated by West Bromwich Albion.

Goals from Jay Rodriguez and Harvey Barnes were enough to give the Baggies all three points at Portman Road, although Ipswich did make the contest interesting late on when Kayden Jackson fired one back.

Paul Lambert’s side were poor in the opening half, but the second period offered supporters some sort of hope, and Chalobah was instrumental in trying to drive Ipswich after the break, but his impact on the ball was questionable with supporters divided on how well he played over the 90 minutes.

Chalobah joined Ipswich on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea and has predominantly featured in a driving midfield role, despite claims his natural position is in defence.

The 19-year-old saw plenty of the ball against West Brom, racking up 59 touches, recording two shots on goal, one key pass and a team-high rating of 7.34, according to Whoscored.

With a pass completion rate of just 72.5%, however, Chalobah was guilty of giving the ball away. And, on occasions, he tried to dribble his way out in dangerous defensive positions.
