Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah enjoyed his time at Bristol City.
Aston Villa winger Albert Adomah says he was honoured by the reception he received at Ashton Gate on Friday evening, the Bristol Post reports.
“I’m honoured they still remember me and it made me a bit speechless to be honest. I think the fans know what I did for the club in the past and I’ve always got a soft spot for those supporters. I truly loved my time here at Bristol City”, he said.
Adomah enjoyed a three-year spell at Bristol City after joining the club from Barnet for a reported tribunal fee of £140,000 (Bristol Post), going on to make 136 appearances. He left to join Middlesbrough and helped the Teesside club to promotion to the Premier League, before moving on to Aston Villa in 2016, where he has become a mainstay in Steve Bruce’s starting XI.
Last season Adomah recorded his best ever campaign, with 15 league goals for Villa, but is currently in a poor form run of form.
Josh Brownhill gave Bristol City the lead against Villa on Friday after 16 minutes, but Birkir Bjarnason’s goal just before half time gave Villa a share of the spoils – extending their run to just one league win in eight games.
Aston Villa boss Bruce has come under pressure following his side’s sticky form, and he will be hoping Adomah can return to top form as quickly as possible.
