Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal says he would never close the door on a potential Athletic Bilbao switch but for now insists he is happy to remain at the Emirates Stadium, Tuttomercatoweb report.
The Spain international has often been linked with a move to Bilbao, largely as a result of his Basque roots after previously featuring for Osasuna as a youngster.
It seems inevitable that Monreal will return to La Liga one day after he joined Arsenal from Spanish side Malaga back in 2013, and Bilbao seems like the most likely destination.

But for now the experienced left-back has once again assured reporters that he is happy to remain in North London, especially as only last January he signed a new long-term contract with the Gunners.
“I do not close the door to anyone and especially to Athletic because I have spoken beautifully about that club. Now, however, I’m not thinking about bidding farewell to Arsenal,” Tuttomercatoweb quote him as saying.

Monreal has made over 100 Premier League appearances for Arsenal, and this season he has once again established himself as the number left-back with seven appearances.
The 30-year-old has enjoyed plenty of success since moving to North London, helping the Gunners win back-to-back FA Cup trophies and also two Community Charity Shields.
Monreal doesn’t rely on his pace as his positioning is so often spot on, therefore he is only improving further as he gains more experience and he still has plenty left to offer at Arsenal.
