Sunderland currently sit at the bottom of the Premier League table.

Former player and current pundit Alan Shearer believes Sunderland boss David Moyes failed to bring in the necessary players last summer and adds they are now in big trouble, he told BBC’s Match of the Day.
The Black Cats have made a dreadful start to the current Premier League campaign and Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Stoke City leaves them bottom of the table with just two points from eight games.
Sunderland found themselves in a similar position last season, yet this time around boss Moyes arguably has fewer options to choose from in key areas of the team.

Speaking after Sunderland’s defeat to Stoke, Shearer told Match of the Day that he believes Moyes missed out on key targets in the summer and the club are now paying the price for a sustained struggle.
“I get the feeling David Moyes didn’t sign as many players as he wanted to sign. They can’t keep flirting with relegation like they have year in, year out and expect to get away with it,” Shearer told MOTD.
“Not signing the players that needed to be signed, they’re in serious trouble.”

Sunderland have scored only six goals this season, a joint-low alongside newly-promoted Burnley, while at the other end their 15 goals conceded is also among the worst in the league.
The Black Cats just cannot seem to get going in matches, and without keeping clean sheets their chances of picking up all three points are so slim due to their lack of goal threat at the other end.
Moyes needs at least three or four new players to freshen up his side, but with the January transfer window still some 12 weeks away it could end up being too late by then.
