West Ham United are reportedly thinking about signing Genoa’s Diego Laxalt.

The agent of Genoa ace Diego Laxalt has told Gianluca Di Marzio how Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg are interested in signing his client, days after confirming talks over a proposed move to West Ham United.
Laxalt’s agent, Ariel Krasouski, claims Zenit have recently changed sporting directors and, as a result, contacts will soon start as they look to sign the Uruguay international valued by Genoa at 20 million euros [£18 million].
“Zenit really like Laxalt, and they have spoken with Genoa to request information. The Russian club has changed sporting directors and contacts will start again soon. Last year after the transfer with Atalanta fell apart, Genoa president Preziosi promised Diego that he would let him leave within a season if a commensurate offer both for him and the club arrived. Genoa value him at €20 million, we are waiting for the clubs to start talking again after the new Zenit sporting director settles into his role,” Krasouski claims.
Krasouski’s comments come only a matter of days after the agent claimed he was in talks with West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini over a potential switch to the Hammers.
“So many clubs, not only Italian but also foreign, there are rumours, Napoli and also West Ham are interested. They made a proposal, I know the sporting director [Husillos] and Pellegrini. We are talking, we will see what will happen,” the player’s agent told RMC.
Tuttomercatoweb recently reported that West Ham made a bid of £10.7 million for the player, although Genoa turned the offer down.

The 25-year-old is a left-sided player who is capable of playing both at fullback or further forward in an attacking role. Last season he made 32 starts for Genoa, scoring three goals and making three assists.
West Ham have already strengthened their squad significantly this summer – with Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson and Jack Wilshere among others joining.
