Queens Park Rangers loan signing Tomer Hemed had an impressive debut Saturday.

Queens Park Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to lavish praise on striker Tomer Hemed, after the Brighton & Hove Albion man proved to be difference in his new side’s 1-0 win over Wigan Athletic.
The Hoops had begun their Championship campaign in horrible fashion, losing their opening four league games and conceding 13 goals in the process – seven of those coming in a 7-1 defeat at West Bromwich Albion.
New QPR boss Steve McClaren needed a result Saturday, and he managed to bolster his side’s attack with the arrivals of Burnley’s Nakhi Wells and Brighton’s Hemed on loan during the week.
McClaren has often had success when using a strong target man up front, having him act as a pivot for his side’s fellow attacking players – and Hemed performed in that role to great success against the Latics.
QPR fans couldn’t believe the impact the Israeli striker had on their side, with some even claiming it was the best debut they’ve seen from a Hoops player in some time.
Here are some of their laudatory Tweets:
Hemed grabbed the only goal of the game in the first half, acrobatically firing past Wigan goalkeeper Christian Walton ten minutes before the half-time interval.
QPR, expectedly under pressure following their poor start, managed to hold out in the second half and record their first three points of the season – a welcome relief for under-fire manager McClaren.

With Hemed and Wells leading the line, QPR can expect to retain the ball better in the final third and pose a greater danger to the opposition defence.
While it’s still early days, Hemed could end up being the difference between a potential relegation fight and a push up the Championship table.
