Norwich City supporters have taken to Twitter to share their delight at Todd Cantwell’s Championship debut for the club after he impressed during his side’s 2-1 victory over struggling Reading.

In what was quite a scrappy affair, Norwich’s Teemu Pukki scored for the second successive game but his opener was cancelled out by Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, before Mario Vrancic came off the bench to score the winner.

Bosnia international Vrancic will no doubt grab the headlines after scoring the winner just minutes after coming off the substitutes’ bench, yet it was Canaries youngster Cantwell who made the biggest impression.

Here are what Norwich fans had to say on his performance:

Cantwell is an attacker capable of playing out wide or through the middle, and he showed plenty of promise against Reading as he recorded two key passes including an assist.

Norwich have suffered from an attacking point of view following the departure of James Maddison during the summer, with that extra creativity and spark in the final third missing from their play this season.

But, against Paul Clement’s men, 20-year-old Cantwell showed bravery on the ball and tried to make things happen for his side, reminiscent of Maddison who grabbed 14 goals and eight assists last term.

Back-to-back wins for Norwich over Middlesbrough and Reading have seen them climb up the table, and now they can head into their upcoming match at Queens Park Rangers with plenty of confidence.

With manager Daniel Farke looking to play attacking football while integrating the academy players into the first-team, Norwich have plenty to look forward to this season even if they fall someway short of the top six.
