Derby County have been linked with Kilmarnock’s Jordan Jones.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Derby County are among several clubs interested in signing Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones who is currently rated at £600,000 by the Scottish cub.
Newly-appointed manager Frank Lampard will not have had much time to assess his Derby squad, but one area which is indeed light and in desperate need of strengthening is in the attacking wide roles.
Johnny Russell, a former Derby fan favourite, left the Rams to join MLS side Kansas City during the January transfer window and his absence was noted straight away as the club’s form dipped.

Tom Lawrence, Andreas Weimann and Ikechi Anya were the only senior wide players left on the books, yet the latter had barely featured while former Aston Villa man Weimann is predominantly a centre-forward.
Lampard must bring in at least one winger this summer, and Kilmarnock’s Jones represents a fine option considering he is cheap, full of energy and, at 23, boasting plenty of potential.
Derby have had plenty of success in terms of buying players from north of the border, with their last signing from Kilmarnock, Craig Bryson, turning out to be a huge success for the club.

The Scotland midfielder twice won the club’s Player of the Year award, while during the 2013/14 campaign Bryson netted a remarkable 16 goals and grabbed a further 13 assists.
Jones is just as highly rated by the Kilmarnock supporters as Bryson was back then and, in today’s financial climate, his reported fee could turn out to be a bargain if he manages to have a similar impact at Pride Park.
