Wolverhampton Wanderers loan star Cameron Borthwick-Jackson put in a terrific display and was a real standout during his side’s 1-1 draw at home to Burton Albion on Saturday.
The England under-19 international came through the United youth ranks and opted to join Wolves on a season-long loan deal after being advised by Jose Mourinho to go out and play regular first-team football.
Borthwick-Jackson joined the West Midlands club on August 22, yet he had to wait until Saturday to finally make his debut for the club as he started the 1-1 draw against Burton Albion.
Wolves took the lead against Burton but never really looked comfortable against Nigel Clough’s men, eventually conceding a late equaliser much to the frustrations of the home supporters.
Despite the disappointment at not collecting all three points, there were some positives for Walter Zenga’s men with the performance of Borthwick-Jackson in a full-back role a real standout.

As shown by the table provided by Opta, the United youngster was heavily invovled as he looked to get on the ball as much as possible and make things happen for his side.
Borthwick-Jackson took a total of 108 touches and made 52 accurate passes over the course of the 90 minutes, yet it was his defensive capabilities that really impressed.
Playing at left-back, the natural defender posted an impressive two interceptions, two aerial duels won, four defensive duels won, four effective clearances and nine ball recoveries for Wolves.
Mourinho will want his youngster to play as many games for Wolves as possible, and on that display it would be hard to envisage Zenga removing him from the starting elevel anytime soon.
Borthwick-Jackson has a good future ahead of him, and he will be hoping to folllow the likes of Jesse Lingard in getting Championship experience before breaking through to the Red Devils first-team squad.
