A first Premier League victory in three months for Sunderland at Hull City should make the fans livid.

It seems a bizarre thing to say, but Sunderland fans should actually be angry with their team following a 2-0 victory at Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.
That is because it is very much a case of too little, too late with the Black Cats having already been relegated from the top flight for the first time in 10 years following a 1-0 home defeat to AFC Bournemouth the previous weekend.
The fact the players responded to that with their first win since February 4 should actually rile the supporters, because it shows a fighting spirit that was needed at least two months ago.
David Moyes has rightfully received plenty of criticism for his management at the Stadium of Light this season, but the players also need to shoulder a large proportion of the blame.

Jermain Defoe and Jordan Pickford are arguably the only two to have come out of a torrid campaign with any credibility, so to go and beat a Hull side fighting for their lives the first week of potentially being in the shop window should rub Sunderland fans up the wrong way.
There is the argument that perhaps they were able to play without pressure following relegation, but either way it proved that they are capable of performing at the highest level and that will make going down without so much as a whimper even harder to take.
