Niall Quinn’s commentary for the Sunderland v Manchester United game was less than popular among some Reds fans.

Sunderland became the first Premier League team since Derby County in 2006/07 to go seven matches without scoring a goal, as they lost 3-0 at home to Manchester United.
Former Black Cats player, manager and chairman, Niall Quinn, was part of Sky Sports punditry and commentary team and his perceived less than neutral view on things didn’t go down well on social media.
Particular moments from Quinn that seemed to grate was his belief that Seb Larsson’s red card was harsh, while Manchester United are too reliant on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goals – despite the fact Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford were also on the score-sheet.
The result leaves Sunderland ten points from safety with just seven matches left to play, and the worst goal difference in the entire division.

If they do get relegated to the Championship it will bring to an end a ten-year stay in the top flight, although they have narrowly avoided the drop for several of those seasons.
Things don’t look promising, with Sunderland’s last victory coming back on February 4 with a 4-0 triumph at Crystal Palace – their only win of 2017.
