‘Truth is coming out now’: Some Tottenham fans react to what they’re hearing from Doherty

Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter to Matt Doherty’s comments about Jose Mourinho.

It’s been nearly two months since Spurs sacked the trophy-laden coach, with Daniel Levy yet to bring in a fresh new face into North London.

But after Spurs declined once again this season, Doherty has shared some honest thoughts on what happened.

Whilst Mourinho got a lot of stick for what happened, Tottenham’s right-back thinks it’s a ‘shame’ because he is ‘one of the best managers ever’, as posted by Sky Sports.

The Republic of Ireland international, who arrived at the club from Wolves last summer, suggested that the players are the ones who should also be taking responsibility for their seventh-placed finish.

And Spurs fans have appreciated the refreshing comments from their right-sided wing-back.

In truth, Doherty himself was one of the players who simply didn’t perform and produced a pretty poor debut season in Tottenham colours.

He will be well aware that there will be a lot of pressure on his shoulders next season, but he needs a new manager at the club to get a gist as to how he can get things back on track.

If a coach that suits his style is appointed by Daniel Levy then it’s a positive look for him going forward.

But if he’s on the back foot from the get-go then things might just get more difficult for the Irishman.
