Jamie Redknapp told Sky Sports on Wednesday evening that Daniel Levy would try to sign Phil Foden and Kevin de Bruyne if Tottenham had to sell Harry Kane to Manchester City.

The TV pundit stated ‘knowing Levy’ he would perhaps attempt a swap deal of some sort if Spurs had to sell their trophy-chasing prized asset.

Sky Sports have reported that Kane has expressed a desire to leave Tottenham this summer, as he bids to put medals around his neck as he continues to break individual record after individual record.

But with no permanent manager at the helm in North London and Kane seemingly wanting to leave, this is the biggest summer of Levy’s tenure as chairman, according to Redknapp.

“Knowing Daniel Levy, he would probably do a swap and get Foden and De Bruyne,” said Redknapp.

“I mean that’s the sort of thing he would say. Trust me.

“He (Levy) is going to want top money. This is the biggest summer probably of Levy’s tenure as chairman.

“They have no manager right now. Their star player is going to be leaving. What a summer he has ahead of him. He has to get this right. He has some massive decisions to make.”

Tottenham fans were booing at half-time and after the full-time whistle as they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa yesterday.

Kane cut a lonely figure at the full-time whistle as he applauded the 10,000 Spurs fans in attendance.

The frustration at both the break and after the full-time whistle wouldn’t just have been aimed at the performance, but how the season has panned out as a whole.

And as fans are expected back in their seats next season, it’s not going to get easy for Levy, who will be the main target if Tottenham don’t show any ambition in the summer and lose their star asset.
