Noel Gallagher has claimed that the Premier League title race between Manchester City and Liverpool will go to the ‘final day’ of the season, as he told talkSPORT.

The Manchester City fan thinks only the media thought that the title race was ‘over’ before the game-changing results over the weekend.

Liverpool came from behind to beat Norwich City on Saturday afternoon and Tottenham then beat Pep Guardiola’s side in stoppage-time hours later.

It now means that the Reds are six points behind Man City in the table, not forgetting that they have one game in hand on their title rivals.

Nonetheless, former Oasis star, Gallagher, had this to say regarding the Premier League title race and Liverpool fans will love how he feels it will now go down to the wire.

“Only you lot thought it was over anyway,” said Gallagher. “No-one at Man City is saying that it was over.

“But the title race is back on. Thank God. It keeps it interesting. And it might wake the players up.

“This is our blip now. Liverpool are going to drop points. We are going to drop points. It’s going to go to the last day, trust me.”

In truth, if Liverpool supporters were offered the chance to take the title fight to the last day, they would probably take it in an instant.

Given how far Man City were surging ahead, it would be an unexpected bottle job from the club if they lose it from here.

Added with that, on the final day of the season, Man City host none other than Aston Villa on home soil.

It would be quite something if Steven Gerrard were to provide his former side with a helping hand to win the title, but one thing is for sure, the title race has blown wide open after that recent Man City loss.
