On Tuesday evening, LeBron James made history by becoming the all-time leading scorer in the NBA, surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-standing record.

The achievement was met with widespread recognition and praise, and Liverpool FC have now also taken to Twitter to sound their appreciation.

James is one of the most decorated athletes in the history of the game having won four NBA championships, four MVP awards and countless other accolades. However, this latest achievement may be his crowning accomplishment.

Whether or not you think LeBron is the best ever, he’s now undisputedly the best scorer ever.

So, why have Liverpool sent a message to the LA Lakers star? Well, he’s, quite famously, a big fan of the Reds.

As well as being a fan of Liverpool, LeBron is also an investor in the club, having purchased a 2% stake in the club back in April 2011.

His association with the Merseyside outfit has only grown stronger in recent years, with the player often seen wearing Liverpool merchandise and expressing his support for the six-time European champions on social media.

LeBron has always shown his support for the Merseyside club, so it’s only right that they show it right back after this historic moment.

For LeBron, this latest achievement is yet another feather in his cap, and he’ll be hoping that his favourite Premier League team can follow in his footsteps and make some history of their own this season after a slow start.

Liverpool may be struggling in their own field, but their minority investor is still proving in the NBA why he’s got to be considered one of the greatest sportsmen of all-time.

Everyone in the world of sport should be in awe of what LeBron has done, and the scary part is that his career isn’t over yet.
