Troy Parrott started his first game for Tottenham Hotspur as they suffered an EFL Cup defeat to Colchester United on Tuesday night.

Troy Parrott has stated on Instagram that it is ‘time to bounce back’ after Tottenham Hotspur were knocked out of the EFL Cup by Colchester United on Tuesday night.
There has been a lot of noise surrounding Parrott recently, with the Spurs supporters keen to see what their academy product is made of but, when he was handed his senior debut, he failed to deliver.
Despite dominating possession, Mauricio Pochettino’s side were lacklustre in front of goal, as the game finished goalless after 90 minutes before the League Two side won the encounter on penalties.
It would have been a proud moment for 17-year-old Parrott to make his senior debut but, after the game, he sent this message to supporters from his personal Instagram account.
“Time to bounce back!,” Parrott wrote on his Instagram story, which was accompanied by #coys

While there are bigger issues at Spurs, Parrott would have learnt a lot from his first outing in a Tottenham shirt, but it will now be difficult for him to earn more game time with the first-team.
Harry Kane will always be the main man up top, with the likes of Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura also utilised in those forward roles.
With only two competitions to play for until the FA Cup starts in January, Parrott may have to wait until the new year to earn more minutes with the senior side.
Either way, the positive needs to be looked at because he is still a teenager playing on a big stage and for one of the biggest clubs in the world.
