Everton have had their eye on Troy Parrott for quite some time.
The Toffees looked into bringing him in over the winter window, and plenty of fans were backing the AZ Alkmaar forward as their top choice.
Parrott has now spoken to VI in the Netherlands after scoring his 23rd goal of the season in 32 appearances, and he admitted that he once turned down a move to Goodison Park.
Why Troy Parrott chose Tottenham over Everton

The 24-year-old had the chance to join Everton in 2017 but decided to sign with Spurs instead, saying the north London club gave him “the best feeling” during his decision-making process.
“I turned out to be good at it (playing as a striker). From a young age, I was asked by foreign clubs to do internships. I played for Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Celtic,” Parrott began by saying.
“Some clubs turned me down, but in the end I had to choose between Spurs, Everton, Wolves and Celtic. Tottenham gave me the best feeling. I felt incredibly welcome there, which is especially important at a young age.”
Parrott displayed impressive goal-scoring form across Tottenham’s youth teams. He netted 17 goals in 15 appearances for the U18 side, followed by nine goals in nine U19 outings and five in 14 games for the U21s. This form led to him making four senior appearances for Spurs.
However, the Dublin-born forward never really got an extended run with the first team due to Harry Kane’s presence. Later he found his feet in the Netherlands with Excelsior before making an impact at AZ Alkmaar.
Why Troy Parrott’s past links to Everton might sway a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium
If Everton do decide to go after Parrott this summer, the fact that he once had an offer from them could make him more inclined to consider a move to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The other clubs in the mix do not seem likely options, either. Wolves are heading into the Championship and will not be in the race, while Spurs have their attacking options sorted with Dominic Solanke, Richarlison, and Mathys Tel.
Celtic may not be able to meet his valuation either, which is said to be between £25m and £30m.
Everton might appeal as an opportunity for Parrott, especially with David Moyes in charge. It could be a chance for him to finally take up a role he once passed on nearly ten years ago.
