Everton appointed the Portuguese as their new manager in the summer.

Troy Deeney of Watford is seen prior to the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on November 5, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

Watford skipper Troy Deeney was a guest on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football programme last night, and offered high words of praise for Everton boss Marco Silva, sharing his belief that he will take the Merseysiders to another level.

The Blues have made a fairly underwhelming start to their 2018/19 Premier League campaign, and they currently sit in 10th spot in the table, having taken six points from their opening five league outings.

Silva has undoubtedly brought more of an attacking, free-flowing brand of football to Goodison Park, however, and there are signs that there will be exciting times ahead for Everton fans.

Deeney, who worked under Silva during their time together at Watford, raved about the Everton manager’s quality, suggesting that he will take the Toffees to another level, when speaking during a guest appearance on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football programme:

“I sensed a difference in him after he was linked with Everton. With anyone, when you get linked with moves or any kind of contract thoughts or things like that, your mind just comes off a fraction or two and it reflects to the players. I would expect him to take Everton to the next level.”

In spite of Deeney’s praise for Silva, the Everton boss must start guiding his team to a run of victories sooner rather than later, otherwise the pressure will undoubtedly begin to mount on the Portuguese’s shoulders.
