Troy Deeney has told Drive on talkSPORT (11/11/20 at 4:45 pm) that Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo should sign for a club like Wolves.
There has been speculation linking Ronaldo with a return to England and especially to Manchester United [Mirror], but Deeney thinks with Wolves’ ‘Portugal connection’ they could sign him.
Gareth Bale recently left Real Madrid to move back to Tottenham, with fans having flashbacks of how good he was when he left for Spain and thinking he could replicate that form now that he’s returned.
Deeney warned fans that if Ronaldo does return to England, they shouldn’t expect too much of the Juventus man, like with Bale, as he made this sensational claim.
“I think I was more looking at a club like Wolves with the Portugal connection,” said Deeney. “That would probably work.
“Whoever is getting him is getting an unbelievable talent. This season I think six in four he has already got in Serie A. You are not going to get the same Ronaldo you had at Manchester United. I think that’s always going to be the comparison.

“You look at Gareth Bale, for example, he has gone back to Tottenham. You are comparing him already to the one that left to go to Madrid. You are still going to get goals from Ronaldo and you are still going to get goals from Bale – that’s going to be the forefront of everyone’s mind is he to that level?
“If he is available, I would be very surprised if there wasn’t a top ten club trying to sign him in the Premier League.
On him being too good for Wolves: “I like Wolves. It is the odd one out [compared to the clubs Ronaldo has played at]. If he went to America and went to LA Galaxy. We would go ‘oh, that’s a bit strange’.
“I think Wolves are creating something there with the players that they have where they will push for the top six in the next few years. Then, of course, as I said the Portugal connection and there are so many positives. If you want to go to the next level then that’s the player you need to go for.”

Ronaldo returning to the Premier League would be a story in itself, but if he pops up at Wolves then it would be the biggest shock of the century.
During his career, Ronaldo has played for the biggest clubs in his career and a move to Wolves would be quite something given their stature.
Super agent Jorge Mendes would have to play a seriously big role for that to happen, but it’s fair to say that such a move would be a dream and a dream only for those at Molineux.
