Troy Deeney has said on Ben Foster’s YouTube channel that he is not convinced by Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.

The Birmingham City striker has said that if Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus gets injured, then Mikel Arteta’s side could struggle to get goals from Nketiah.

Deeney has said that Arsenal need to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.

The Englishman has added that he likes Nketiah, but he does not think that the 23-year-old former Leeds United loanee is good enough to fill in for Nketiah.

Deeney said: “I still think they need another striker. I like Eddie, but he doesn’t feel me with confidence. If Jesus goes out, I can’t put him in for 15 games, and he is going to get you the goals.”

Staying positive

In our view, Troy Deeney has a point about Eddie Nketiah, but we do not think that Arsenal will be able to sign as good a striker as Gabriel Jesus in the January transfer window.

No club is going to sell their star striker in the middle of the season.

Nketiah is a good striker, and he is only 23.

True, he is not at the level of Jesus yet, but working under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta on a regular basis at London Colney, he could develop and improve his game further.
