Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is earning huge praise this season.

Watford striker Troy Deeney told BBC Radio Five Live that he thinks Liverpool defender Joe Gomez is a ‘beast of a player’, backing him for a huge future.
Liverpool have opened the season with six straight wins in the Premier League, living up to their pre-season billing as a legitimate title contender.
Jurgen Klop’s men sit top of the Premier League table, and a host of players are earning praise, such as big-money additions Alisson and Virgil van Dijk, unheralded midfielder James Milner and attacking trio Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Yet one of the most pleasant surprises has been how defender Joe Gomez has stepped up to become a first-team star, flourishing in the heart of defence alongside Van Dijk.
Gomez, 21, is starting to live up to the potential he showed at Charlton Athletic which tempted Liverpool into signing him in 2015, and he has recently featured in the England defence as well.
With blistering pace for a defender and a superb reading of the game, Gomez looks set to become a real star in the coming years, having already helped solidify Klopp’s back line.

Now, Watford striker Troy Deeney told BBC Radio Five Live that he has ‘massive respect’ for Gomez, claiming that he is a ‘beast of a player’.
The burly forward added a major prediction for Gomez, claiming he can be English’s top centre back for the next 15 years and is only going to improve playing alongside Van Dijk.
“I’ve said for a very long time that I’ve got a massive respect for Joe Gomez,” said Deeney. “He could be England’s centre-half for the next 15 years. He is a beast of a player. And going next to someone like Van Dijk, he is only going to get better,” he added.
