West Bromwich Albion star James McClean has been criticised by Watford striker Troy Deeney.
Speaking to reporters after his side’s 3-1 defeat at West Brom, Watford skipper Troy Deeney hit out at James McClean for the way in which the Republic of Ireland international goes about his business, Sky Sports.
Hornets midfielder Roberto Pereyra received his marching orders six minutes from time, after becoming embroiled in an altercation with McClean, while the Baggies man only received a yellow card.
And Deeney had his say on the matter, when speaking to the media in the aftermath of the game, as quoted by Sky Sports:

“Obviously McClean, I spoke to him afterwards, he’s got that style of tackling which got him in trouble last year. A few seconds before he did the same on me, but obviously no big deal made out of it, but then he does it again. So that was just my interpretation of it. If you are going to do that, last year he got sent off a few times, this year it’s been made to be acceptable. I don’t think, on the tackle on myself, he went in to hurt me, that’s just his style of tackling. But it’s just twice in two minutes is a bit interesting from our part.”
Pereyra’s sending off arguably had a huge bearing in the outcome of the game, with the score being 2-1 to the home side when the incident occurred, just as Watford had begun to exert real pressure on the hosts.

The Baggies went on to win the game by two clear goals eventually and, incredibly, moved up to sixth in the Premier League table.
Watford, meanwhile, slipped to 10th in the table following their loss.
Both clubs are outperforming what was expected of them this season, West Brom in particular, and will head into the Christmas period in fairly confident mood.
