Tristan Muyumba has praised Atlanta United after his first individual training session with the club having transferred from France.
Speaking to the Five Stripes official website, the 26-year-old midfielder lauded his new side after his first session, with Muyumba and Atlanta waiting for the official paperwork to be completed before the former EA Guingamp can join up with the rest of the squad.
Muyumba said when asked about his first thoughts on Atlanta in training: “It’s a big club of MLS. When I spoke with the coach, with Carlos (Bocanegra), it showed me more confidence, more attraction. So, for me, it’s easy to make the choice.”

Having spent most of his career in Ligue 2 and Belgium, Muyumba making the leap to MLS before the peak of his powers is an interesting move from the French midfielder. However, the 26-year-old’s comments on Atlanta should be a big encouragement for fans.
As we know, Franco Ibarra’s shock loan move to Toronto FC has taken up most of the airwaves in recent days for Atlanta. Which is why Muyumba’s comments this week in training will come as a much-needed breath of fresh air.
Muyumba’s initial thoughts on Atlanta will be encouraging for supporters

Atlanta fans might have to wait a while before seeing Muyumba on the pitch. Yet early impressions on the midfielder from coaches and supporters has been positive, with the Frenchman now seemingly excited to get started in this new chapter of his career.
Indeed, warming to supporters will be huge in Muyumba getting off to a good start in MLS. And with Atlanta in need of a new midfield hero, the French dynamo has what it takes to fill in the void left by Ibarra this summer, even if that shadow will linger for some time.
