Kieran Trippier has teased Arsenal with a message to Tottenham fans on Instagram – after his Newcastle side beat the Gunners 2-0 on Tyneside. Spurs are now favourites to go on and secure fourth place on Sunday.
Following Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Burnley, Arsenal had to win to regain fourth place. But Newcastle were magnificent and won 2-0 on Monday night, thanks to a Ben White own goal and a late Bruno Guimaraes goal.
It is a huge result. It sees Tottenham stay in fourth and remain two points ahead of Spurs. Not only that, but Spurs have a superior goal difference by 15. It means that Spurs only need a point when it comes to this weekend.
Spurs travel to rock bottom Norwich and only need a point, while Arsenal play host to Everton – a game they simply have to win. Tottenham are red-hot favourites to get fourth, and Trippier has teased Arsenal on Instagram.

It is Tottenham’s to lose – and it looks almost impossible that Spurs will lose to Norwich this weekend. Even with the Canaries having nothing to play for, Spurs are the far superior side and it looks as good as over for Arsenal.
That is even, if Arsenal can put aside their two recent losses and beat an Everton side fighting for their lives. Not only are Spurs about to finish above Arsenal, but the divide is only going to grow over the next few years.
