Leeds United have struggled away to Saturday’s opponents in recent years.

Leeds United are certainly in need of a morale boost having lost four of their last five Championship games but history suggests that they are unlikely to succeed when they travel to face Barnsley on Saturday.
Last night Leeds were beaten 4-1 away to Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the club now in tenth place in the Championship, with there being little evidence to suggest that they could challenge for a place in the play-offs this season.
In these circumstances a trip to face Barnsley is certainly the last thing that Leeds need.

Since dropping into the Championship 13 years ago, Leeds have faced Barnsley at Oakwell on six occasions and they have lost five of those games.
The only win for the Yorkshire club away at Barnsley in the Championship came in April 2014, when a goal from Ross McCormack proved to be the difference between the two sides.
In the main Barnsley have frequently proven a very difficult obstacle for Leeds to overcome.

Last season, for instance, Barnsley ran out 3-2 winners, and Christiansen can ill afford for a similar outcome on Saturday.
One positive that Leeds can take going into the game is that Barnsley are in an even worse situation than themselves, with Paul Heckingbottom’s team in 17th place in the table having lost 1-0 at home to Cardiff City this week.
