Ho Lee has been quoted as saying by Calcio Napoli 24 that Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign Kim Min-jae in the summer transfer window.

It has been claimed that Tottenham were among the clubs who were keen on signing Kim this summer.

The 25-year-old South Korea international centre-back, who won the K-League 1 title twice (2017 and 2018) with Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, moved to Napoli from Turkish giants Fenerbahce in the summer transfer window.

A documentary about South Korean footballers ahead of the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar is being released.

And, according to Calcio Napoli 24, in that documentary, Ho Lee, described as a ‘close collaborator’ to Kim, has named Tottenham, Inter Milan and AS Roma as among the clubs who wanted to sign Kim this summer.

Reports in the British media in June claimed that Tottenham were looking to sign Kim.

But the defender moved to Napoli instead.

Tottenham Hotspur wanted to sign Kim Min-jae

Calcio Napoli 24 quotes Ho Lee as saying about Kim Min-jae: “Inter, Juventus, Tottenham, Rennes and Roma have tried to sign Kim, and many clubs have held meetings on video, but we wanted Kim to be able to play in a good team with a certain continuity, and that team was Napoli.”

Stats

Kim Min-jae has scored two goals in five Serie A appearances for Napoli so far this season.

The defender has also played once in the UEFA Champions League for the Italian club this campaign.
