Trevor Steven has criticised the Everton midfielder.

Trevor Steven has described Morgan Schneiderlin as “hugely disappointing” for Everton this season, in an interview with The Liverpool Echo.
It has been a horrendous start to the season for Everton as Ronald Koeman’s side sit 16th in the Premier League table, two points above the drop zone.
Their form is made even more surprising by the fact that the Toffees spent some £200 million on transfers during the summer window.

You could argue that some of those additions need time to adapt – especially the foreign lads such as Davy Klaassen and Sandro who have come in for criticism.
But Schneiderlin, a £24 million signing from Man United back in January, has an abundance of Premier League experience and, as a result, does not get the same pass.

The French midfielder has looked well below his best in the league and Europa League this season, and Steven tells The Liverpool Echo that he is one of many problems in Koeman’s first XI at the moment.
He said: “There is a long list of problems: Cuco Martina doesn’t offer the dynamism of regular right-back Seamus Coleman; Morgan Schneiderlin has been hugely disappointing; Davy Klaassen and Gylfi Sigurdsson do not look the key components that they were at Ajax and Swansea respectively; Sandro is not an out-and-out centre-forward; Ademola Lookman has not had a look-in.”
